DESCRIPTION

This houseplant, originally from Africa, is very hardy and undemanding. This, together with its atypical and modern habit, makes it an indispensable houseplant for any home. Its leaves are composed of a thick stem and relatively thick, round, dark green leaflets with a characteristic glossy sheen. Its roots are also thick and both the roots and leaves act as water reservoir organs.

It is the beginner-proof plant, ideal for everyone who wants to venture into the world of plants.

CARE

Temperature: They thrive in temperatures of 15°C and above.

Light: Zamioculcas are not very demanding in terms of light and grow well even in places where there is not much natural light, but with sufficient artificial light supplementation. However, in order to promote a correct development, it appreciates a luminous position but without direct sunlight. In this way, the new shoots will be compact and dark green.

Watering: Watering should be very reduced, leaving the soil to dry out almost completely between watering. During the winter it is important to reduce watering. It tolerates dry environments perfectly, so it does not require foliage spraying.

Abono: At the beginning of spring, add liquid fertiliser monthly to the irrigation water. A special fertilizer for green plants is recommended.

Transplanting: The zamioculcas creates a very voluminous root system and, if the plant is at ease, it quickly saturates the volume of soil available in the pot. For this reason, every two years it will be necessary to transplant it to a larger pot, which will have a direct effect on the plant's development. A light, well-drained substrate is recommended.
