Description

Biocop Organic Brown Basmati Rice is a long-grain rice grown organically, without pesticides or chemical fertilisers. Its name, which means 'queen of fragrances' in Hindi, reflects its delicate aroma and mild flavour. This brown rice retains its bran layer, making it a rich source of fibre and essential nutrients.

How to use

  1. Wash the rice under cold water.
  2. Cook with 2 to 2.5 parts water for 1 part rice.
  3. Cooking: 5 minutes over high heat, then 40 minutes over low heat.
  4. Leave to stand, covered, for 10 minutes before serving.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from light.

Recipe

Warm brown basmati rice salad with vegetables

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Biocop brown basmati rice
  • 1 carrot, cut into strips
  • 1 courgette, cut into strips
  • 1 red pepper, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Soy sauce to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large frying pan and sauté the vegetables until they are tender but still crunchy.
  3. Add the cooked rice to the vegetables and mix well.
  4. Add soy sauce to taste and mix again.
  5. Serve hot, sprinkled with sesame seeds if desired.

This dish is a healthy and delicious option that takes advantage of the properties of brown basmati rice, combining its unique flavour with the richness of sautéed vegetables.
